What is Student Voice?
At Lincroft Academy we CARE and we believe that every student has a voice — that voice matters.
Student Voice is about giving students the opportunity to share their ideas, shape their school experience, and play an active role in decision-making. We empower our students to speak up, lead with confidence, and make a difference in the Academy and wider community.
Lincroft Academy CARE Council
The heart of Student Voice at Lincroft Academy is our CARE Council.
The CARE Council is a dynamic and dedicated group of student leaders who live out the values of our Academy and represent the voices of their peers. The council’s name reflects our school values:
- C – Community
- A – Aspiration
- R – Respect
- E – Excellence
Together, the CARE Council works to promote these values across the academy.
Who are the CARE Ambassadors?
The CARE Council is made up of CARE Ambassadors – students who have been selected to represent their peers and contribute to Academy life in a meaningful way
CARE Ambassadors take on the following roles:
Form Captains
Represent their tutor groups, bringing feedback and ideas to council meetings, and encouraging participation in whole-school initiatives.
House Captains & Vice Captains
Lead their house in events, competitions, and charity work. They foster a sense of belonging and team spirit, helping to build a strong house identity.
Head Students & Deputy Head Student
Act as senior student leaders across the academy. They help shape academy policy, support younger students, and represent the academy at formal events and community functions
What does the CARE Council Do?
The CARE Council meets regularly to discuss key issues affecting students and helps influence decisions in areas such as:
- School environment and facilities
- Charity events and fundraising
- Wellbeing and mental health initiatives
- Inclusion and diversity
- Extra-curricular activities and enrichment
- Promoting the CARE values in daily school life
