Assessment and Reporting

Our reporting and feedback systems exist to tell you how your child is performing at the Academy, what they are enjoying, how they have made friends at school, and how their tutor and house team can support them.  We aim to provide you with meaningful information while also respecting the time teachers need to plan, teach, and assess throughout the academic year. To achieve this balance, we offer feedback in a variety of formats and at different points in time.

We use the following methods to provide feedback.

  • Academic Mentoring – at key points across the year your child’s tutor will meet with your child to discuss their latest report, progress and how they are feeling about school. This will be shared with you via email.
  • Reports – our reports contain a range of information about your child’s progress in subjects and PLEDGES, how hard they are working in class and on their independent learning and how many CARE credits and behaviour points they have
  • Parent Evenings/Meet the Tutor Evenings – In years 7 and 11 parents will meet with their child’s tutor as the key contact in the important transition points from KS2 and into KS5 and beyond.  All year groups have at least one subject parents evening to discuss progress and in year 9, 10 and 11 we offer information evenings to help keep parents and carers as informed and involved as we possible.
