The DoFE Awards
Silver Award 2024-25
This year will be the first year that we introduce the Silver Award at Lincroft since before the pandemic. Students will complete the same four sections as the Bronze Award, however they are expected to show progression from their Bronze Award activities.
It will take at least 6 months to complete Silver if students have already achieved their Bronze Award, or 12 months if they have entered the DofE programme straight into Silver.
- Volunteering section: 6 months – Physical and Skills sections: One section for 6 months and the other section for 3 months – Expedition section: 3 days/2 nights – this will include a practice as well as assessed expedition in the summer terms.
If students did not do Bronze, they must undertake a further 6 months in either the Volunteering or the longer of the Physical or Skills sections.
Bronze Award 2024-25
It will take students a minimum of 6 months to complete the DofE Bronze Award programme. Each of the following sections must have an activity log completed and uploaded to the DofE website, as well as an assessor (More information from the DofE is available here) to confirm they have undertaken what they have logged and are usually present during the time. An assessor is an adult (over 18) and is not a guardian or a member of the family. All of this can be completed through the DofE app.
We do ask that parents support their child as much as they can and that they are aware of the independent nature of the DofE Bronze Award. However, throughout the year students will be provided with information and guidance to help complete the award. This will be through TEAMs updates and focused drop-in sessions in order to help with key aspects of completion and using the DofE website and App.
